Heating and cooling in Philadelphia

Repairs, maintenance and system replacement for Philadelphia homes. Tell us what is happening and request a service visit.

What we can help with

Four kinds of visit. Each one starts with a look at the equipment and a plain explanation of what we found.

A gray outdoor air-conditioning unit on a pad beside a brick rowhouse

Air-conditioning repair

For a system that is not cooling, short-cycling, leaking water or making a new noise.

Tell us what changed and when. We check the outdoor unit, the indoor coil and airflow, explain what we find and agree the repair before any work starts.

You can request

  • A diagnostic visit for a system that stopped cooling
  • A repair for a known fault
  • A second opinion on a repair estimate

Heating repair

For a heat pump or air handler that is not keeping the house warm.

We look at the thermostat call, the indoor unit and the outdoor unit in heating mode, then talk you through the options. If parts are needed we tell you before ordering.

You can request

  • A visit for no heat or uneven heat
  • A repair for a fault you already know about
  • A check before the first cold week

Seasonal maintenance

A planned visit before the cooling and heating seasons.

We clean the outdoor coil, check refrigerant lines and connections, test the indoor airflow and replace the filter if you want us to. You get a short written note of what was checked.

You can request

  • A spring or autumn maintenance visit
  • A filter change and airflow check
  • A look at a system that has not been serviced for a while

Heat-pump and system replacement

When repair no longer makes sense, or you want to move to a heat pump.

We measure the house, check ductwork and the electrical supply, and propose equipment that fits the space. Replacement reuses the existing pad and wall penetration where they are sound.

You can request

  • A replacement assessment for an ageing system
  • A heat-pump proposal for a rowhouse
  • A like-for-like replacement after a failure

How a service visit works

No work starts before you have heard what we found and agreed what happens next. If you would rather talk it through first, call during business hours.

Tell us what is happening

Use the form or the demo phone number. Say which system it is, what changed and whether it is currently working.

We visit and explain

A technician looks at the indoor and outdoor units, tells you what they found and gives you the options in plain language.

You decide, we do the work

Repair, maintenance or replacement is agreed in writing before it starts. We tidy up and show you what was done.

Where we work

Philadelphia rowhouses, twins and small apartment buildings inside the boundary on the map.

Just outside the boundary? Send the request anyway with your street and we will tell you if we can get there.

Request service

Choose the service, tell us whether the system is running, and say how to reach you.

  • We read the request and reply to confirm a visit window.
  • The technician checks the indoor and outdoor units and explains the options.
  • Repair, maintenance or replacement is agreed before any work starts.

Common questions

Requesting a visit, what helps us prepare, and how the repair or replace decision is made.

How do I request a visit?

Send the form on this page with the service you need and how to reach you, or call. We confirm a time with you by phone or email and tell you who is coming.

What information helps?

The type of system, roughly how old it is, what changed and when, whether heating or cooling is currently working, and any error the thermostat shows. A photo of the outdoor unit and the indoor cabinet is useful.

How do you decide between repair and replacement?

We look at the age of the equipment, the fault, the cost of the part and whether the rest of the system is sound. You get both options where both are reasonable, and the decision stays with you.

What access do you need?

A clear path to the outdoor unit and about three feet of clear space around it, and access to the indoor air handler or furnace closet. Move anything stored against the cabinet before the visit if you can.
